UPDATE: Monday, January 18, 2010, 10:27 AM
Hello everyone,
Thank you all so much for the orders and supportive notes you've sent in...you've been a lifeline to me these past few weeks and I am so utterly grateful for your help and support.
I wanted to let you all know that, thanks to the orders you've placed, the vet bills and my regular obligations have all been taken care of and I'm on solid footing again. I honestly don't know how I would have accomplished this without your help, and I can't thank you all enough for lending me a hand during a very tough time.
I'm working steadily to fill your orders, and am currently looking at about a 2-week backlog — meaning that if you haven't received your beads yet, you should have them within 2 weeks at the latest. Please know how much I appreciate your patience.
I'll continue to accept orders on these beads for another week or two, because I need to be working and I'm finding the meditative, familiar nature of these orders very comforting right now. So if you'd like some of these and don't mind waiting a few weeks for shipment, feel free to order. But I wanted to make it clear that, in terms of my original request for help, the emergency has passed. You guys really came through for me, and I'm officially out of the woods.
Thank you all so, so much for your help...I am deeply touched and incredibly grateful to be part of such a loving, caring community of friends.

Dear Friends,
I'm writing to ask for your help.
4 days before Christmas, I lost my beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Winston, after an injection administered by his vet for back pain went horribly wrong and sent him into anaphylactic shock. He had been given the same drug on a previous occasion with no side effects at all, so this was a routine treatment and his reaction to the injection was completely out of the blue. Our vet did everything she could for him. He was on life support and fighting for several hours, but the anaphylactic reaction caused pulmonary edema -- his little lungs filled up with fluid -- and in spite of her efforts, the vet wasn't able to save him.
I was sidelined by grief last week and was unable to work. Now, I desperately need to be working and earning money to start paying off the bills that have accumulated, but I don't have the focus or heart right now to work on new designs, or to deal with Ebay auctions. What I really need is quiet, steady production work, something familiar and soothing that will bring in enough to cover the vet bills and tide me over with my regular bills for a few weeks, until I'm operating on all cylinders and am able to find my creativity again. With that in mind, I am appealing to the bead community for help.
Below, I am offering beads from 2 of my favorite new series, "Chamomile" and "Wind Dancer," on an a-la-carte, made-to-order basis. If you're reading this and could find it in your heart to help me out by ordering even 1 bead, I would be so incredibly grateful. I will fill orders as quickly as I can, in the order that they are received, but please be aware that depending on the number of orders ahead of yours, there may be a 1-2 week wait for your beads to ship. I'll work as hard as I can every day on these, to get every single order I receive shipped out as quickly as I possibly can.
I know so many are struggling right now, but if you could place even a tiny order, it would be a tremendous help to me during a very tough time. I would also appreciate it if you could share this page with any friends who might want some beads and be able to help.
Thank you so, so much for reading.
With sincere gratitude,
Kim
